Telemetry Golf ("we", "us") is a practice app for golf launch monitors at app.telemetrygolf.com, with this website at www.telemetrygolf.com. It's run by Telemetry Golf Inc., Hong Kong SAR, the data controller for the information below. Questions: [email protected].

In short: we collect what's needed to show and keep your golf data, we don't sell it or use it for advertising, and you can export or delete it at any time.

What we collect, and why

InformationWhyKept
Email address (to sign in), optional display nameYour account: sending sign-in links, telling you about your account and subscriptionUntil you delete your account
Practice data: each shot's launch-monitor measurements (ball speed, launch, spin, club data, impact), the simulated flight, device model and firmware, sessions, clubs and bag, tags and settings you saveThe service itself: showing, analysing and comparing your shotsFree plan: rolling 30 days. Plus: as long as you subscribe, then 30 days after it ends. Deleted with your account
Players you add (names, handedness, colour), e.g. a friend hitting in your bayKeeping each person's shots apartUntil you remove them or delete your account
Friends: the email addresses you invite, and who acceptedFriend invites; the other person sees your email and name when you invite themUntil either of you removes the friendship, or the account is deleted
Subscription status from our payment provider (plan, renewal date, a customer reference)Turning Plus on and off. We never see or store your card detailsWhile you have an account
Bug reports: your message, an optional reply address, and (if you leave the box ticked) technical details: app version, browser, screen size, the app's recent event log. A one-way hash of your IP address, for rate limiting onlyFixing problemsUp to 24 months
Website and app visits: anonymous page-view counts (Cloudflare Web Analytics, no cookies, no fingerprinting)Knowing which pages people useAggregated only
Error reports from the app: what went wrong and where in the code, the app version, browser and operating system. Addresses lose their query and anything after #; no email, name or shot dataFinding and fixing crashes90 days
Usage events from the app: named steps such as opening the app, the tour, connecting a launch monitor or upgrading, with the app version, browser, screen size and rough location from the IP address (the address itself isn't kept). Signed in, the events carry your account's random id, never your email. No cookies or local storage, no recordings, no tracking across other sitesLearning which features get used and where people get stuckUp to 24 months

Without an account, your shots stay in your browser for that visit only and nothing is sent to us, apart from requests for the demo session's analytics (which carry no personal data), any bug report you choose to send, and the error reports and usage events above. You can turn error reports and usage events off at any time under Settings → Setup → Privacy in the app; the choice is kept on that computer. The app keeps your settings, the tour's progress and, when signed in, your sign-in session in your browser's local storage. That's needed for the app to work, and isn't used to track you; we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

We don't sell or rent personal data, and we don't share it with advertisers. When data moves across borders, we rely on our providers' standard safeguards (such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses).

Your rights

You can see, export and delete your data yourself: in the app, open the menu → Manage Data to export everything (CSV or JSON) or to delete your account and all of its data. You can also ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing [email protected]; we'll answer within 30 days. If you're in the EU, UK or a similar jurisdiction, you can also complain to your data protection authority. California residents have the rights in the CCPA/CPRA; we don't sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account removes your profile, players, sessions, shots, friends and settings from our database straight away. Copies in our database provider's backups are overwritten within 7 days. Payment records stay with our payment provider as the law requires.

Children

Accounts are for people aged 16 or over (or the minimum age where you live, if higher). If you add a younger player to your account, you're responsible for having their parent's or guardian's permission. Tell us if you think a child has an account and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit; each account can only reach its own data (enforced in the database); payment details never reach our servers. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

Changes

We'll post changes here and update the date above. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
